A little bit
about me
Theodor Olanzo Carver’s origin story isn’t all that different than a lot of artists. But that doesn’t mean his music isn’t unique. He began making music for himself – in his aunt’s basement – when nobody else would listen. This is art. Or at least it’s beginning. The making of the thing you love for no other reason than you love it. Making it for you. Everyone else be damned. That is the spark, the ignition of a true artist. That is what you hear when you listen to the music created by Olanzo Carver.
Carver – a Little Rock, Arkansas-based recording artist of Jamaican descent – began to realize that other people really did appreciate the art he was creating. That desire to stay true to self is what prompted listeners to identify with his brand of trap-glazed hip-hop. influences like Fabulous, Jay Z, and Cassidy, coupled with Zo’s own style and flow are what make his six-volume mixtape ‘Weekly Entertainment’ something you won’t be able to press the ‘stop’ button on. It’s infectious in the same way Anderson .Paak’s ‘O.B.E. Vol 1’ and ‘Lovejoy’. No similar in style, but absolutely similar in the way the music dives into your veins and infiltrates your bloodstream. His EP ‘Black Spring’ projects the same vibe, while progressing in maturity and skill. ‘Muscle’, ‘Basalisk’ and ‘Snow’ are additional singles that you need to add to your Spotify ‘liked songs’ playlist immediately. With the much-anticipated full-length album ‘TRAP’ on the way, you’re going to want to get on the bandwagon NOW. Don’t wait for masses. Be ahead of the game.
Zo has opened for Devin the Dude, VIC, K. Michelle and has left his mark on the stage of the renowned Delta Classic.
The same drive that leads him down to those steps of his aunt’s basement is the same energy that pushes Zo today. The same passion he exudes even now as he labors in the studio, preparing to release new music for you and I. Never one to rest, he’s also putting in work on collaborative efforts with fellow artists on their upcoming projects.
